This traditional new home in Harpenden is pretty impressive. They have managed to keep the traditional theme throughout every aspect of the property and it really does look an impressive externally and internally. When I first saw it I called it a tardis like from Doctor Who, because it doesn’t look that imposing on the outside but inside it was enormous.
The architects purposely researched traditional properties and designed this house to utilise the maximum space, but to also create a spacious feel, and that they did.
The living room was cosy and traditional, and the interiors designers really were able to capture the sleek traditional theme extremely well, and it just seems that the room lends itself to being able to create traditional yet modern concept.
The kitchen has that real wow factor, and not only looks stunning but is very practical as well. Again although they have designed this space with tradition in mind they have also been able to incorporate modern aspects like the worktops and appliances, giving this room a wonderful finishing touch.
The bathroom is quite small in comparison to the rest of the house, but they have managed to capture the traditional feel and make use of all the space available. Again this not only keeps the traditional theme throughout the property but also there is a huge amount of practicality here.
This beautifully designed purpose built development in St Albans, Hertfordshire really caught my eye. I was really impressed how the architect was able to create 3 stunning new properties but was also able to keep it in keep with other properties in the area. This is even more impressive when you consider that these properties are located in a conservation area.
I managed to persuade the developers Civic Design + Build to let me take some photos of the interior and exterior of the properties, and I think that you will be amazed at what they have achieved here.
St Albans 3 house architectural project
Projects like this really excite me. I am a massive fan of modern architecture, but at the same time I am also very traditional, and Civic have managed to combine the two with these beautiful living spaces.
Open plan living designed by St Alban architects
There is so much attention to detail, and the interior design aspect is nothing short of exceptional. They have been able to fully create a practical living space which shouts luxury.
The design allows the beautiful living space to feel like it extends into the garden
Even the garden has been designed to be part of the house. The bi-fold doors allow the living area to actually feel like it is part of the garden.
The team at Civic have done a great job here and should be very proud of what they have achieved.
